Hi my name is Isabelle and I'm Pipefy’s knowledge producer. I'm here today to introduce you to one of Pipefy’s core concepts. The field. A field is to a phase or start form what a brick is to a wall is your wall. They are the elements that, together, make your pipe exist. Let me explain it better. Everything you see on a phase; instructions, fields to fill in with informations, radio buttons, checklists, they're all fields and you can edit them however you'd like to better fit your pipes and your phases needs. You can explore all the different types of fields to give instructions to your team members on how to proceed in this phase as for mandatory information before the card can be moved to the next base, select who to assign the phase to, etc. Creating a new field on your star form or on your pipes phases is pretty easy. First, you need to access your pipe settings by selecting the manage option on the upper right side of your Pipe’s dashboard, then inside your pipe settings you can either choose to edit your start form by selecting the set up or start form option or a phase, selecting the little engine icon next to the phases’ name. Let's open a face here just to exemplify how it works. On your phases’ settings, find a list of the existing fields and roll it down until you find the create new field button. After you select the option to create a new field, you'll be able to see these options: field label, this is your field’s name, the name that will be shown on your fields list; type, there are many few types to choose from and each one has its particularities, such as input format, option lists, etc. Field settings: here's where you choose if this is a required field that must be filled before moving the card to the next phase and if the field can be edited when the card is on a different phase. Description: the field’s descriptions are the instructions that appear when the field is shown on the card as it use its statement type of field to give general phase instructions, each field’s description comes with what needs to be informed beneath. Options: this only needs to be used when creating a checklist, radio button or select type of field. Inside the options’ box, you must input the alternatives you want people to choose from, one under the other without any punctuation signs between them. Help text: when you want to give further instruction or tips on to how the field should be filled, you can use the help text option, it creates this little question mark next to the field that, when clicked opens, the help text on the right side of the card. When editing your help text, you can see how it will look on the card by using the preview option. Once you're done click the green save button and you're good to go. Let's see how this field that was created looks on an opened card.
